Associate 2 Product Manager

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Product, the Associate 2 Product Manager will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build, and roll-out products that deliver on the company’s vision and strategy.

This role will be critical in achieving Aspyr’s company vision and values by working with the product team to align & document sound business plans, product development strategies, and marketing executions for product delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience in game development and/or product management, a strong business acumen, and an obsession with high quality video games.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up to date documentation for a games’ business case, development, and players’ needs to deliver high quality video games
  • Maintain & update clear project documentation from all relevant stakeholders in order to help guide strategic decisions about products to align with company values, vision, and strategy
  • Assist with translating product strategy into detailed requirements, prototypes, wireframes, and mockups including drafting long-form detailed technical documentation, requirements, and feature definitions
  • Help prepare presentations for products’ vision with internal stakeholders and key external partners through tactics including product demos, help articles, and internal documentation
  • Develop and foster close relationships with the development (engineering, quality assurance, and production) teams and the publishing (sales, marketing, and customer service) teams to ensure all stakeholders are consistently aligned throughout the development process
  • Drive excellent inter-team communication to keep all team members organized and unblocked in completing their tasks
  • Work closely with development teams to test and validate that milestones align with forecasted cost, time, and quality
  • Assist with product launches in partnership with marketing, sales, and customer service teams to hit business goals, objectives, and forecasts
  • Drive data-collection for project status and health through open communication channels including presentations, dashboards, and status updates
  • Coordinate meeting platforms, frequency, and takeaways with project leads to ensure internal alignment throughout the development process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in product management, video game development, video game production, technical writing, or business analysis
  • Strong knowledge of current video game market, competitive landscape, and target audiences
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance taking initiative and ownership of assigned tasks
  • Experience with technical writing, especially with feature definitions in the tech and/or video game industry
  • Experience drafting competitive analysis in order to validate product assumptions with data from video game industry
  • Ability to break-down video games feature-by-feature in order to understand mechanics and their impact to product quality (e.g. find the fun)
  • Demonstrated success in communicating effectively with all levels of the organization as well as key external partners
  • Organized and focused individual with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done
